Economic Profile

Economic Development in the City of Syracuse is a key ingredient leading to the success of our city today. Helping local business and outside companies looking to relocate to the City of Syracuse through various incentive plans, tax abatements, and resources, with the overall goal of enhancing the City of Syracuse through the promotion of economic growth. 

 

The City of Syracuse and Hamilton County participate in the Rural Opportunity Zone (ROZ) Program.  This program helps pay student loans for people moving into the community to work or start a business.  The City of Syracuse and Hamilton County also participate is the Neighborhood Revitilization Program.  This is a property tax rebate program for qualifying properties that are being substantially improved.  For more information on these programs, contact Steve Phillips, Coordinator for Syracuse/Hamilton County Economic Development,  PO Box 1136, Syracuse, KS 67878,  (620)384-4222.
